About Leigh Ann Thompson
Who Is Leigh Ann?
Leigh Ann Thompson became fascinated with stones and jewelry at an early age. Growing up in southern Minnesota, she was most excited about summer trips to Duluth to add agate (Minnesota’s state gemstone) and other pretty stones to her collection. When presented with the option of a holiday gift or family trip memoir, Leigh Ann always chose a piece of jewelry over dolls or other traditional toys.
Leigh Ann’s business career is comprised of ten years in retail management with Target Stores as well as nine years in various sales, marketing and strategic project management roles with Dell, Inc. in Austin, Texas.
In the midst of Leigh Ann’s corporate adventures, she was inspired to attend the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) to become a trained Graduate Gemologist (GG). In 1995, after 2 ½ years of study, she earned her GG certification.
At Dell, Leigh Ann started designing and selling fine jewelry to her co-workers and their friends. She became known as the diamond lady. Not only did Leigh Ann gain confidence and experience with “build to order” jewelry sales, she developed a loyal following of jewelry customers. Her reputation for value, quality, integrity and personal service quickly grew and it became time to launch the next phase of her dream. Chartreuse is the culmination of Leigh Ann’s ideas, experience and creative passion. What Is the Chartreuse Jewelry Experience?
The experience may be best described as a combination of experiences. A little retail, mixed with a lot of direct, packaged up with customized and personalized professional service. This adds up to a beautiful piece of jewelry at a cost savings to you.
Here’s a framework to give you an idea:

You will receive a response within 24 hours – we will discuss your needs, send
me photos of what you like (if available) or work with your thoughts and ideas
3. Based on your needs, I will go to work finding stones, pictures in catalogs
and finished goods that could satisfy your inspiration.
4. We will determine a
meeting location that is convenient for you – and I will show you goods and we
will discuss your piece(s). This could be a long or short discussion depending
on what you are creating. We will also discuss pricing, and I will provide
some comparisons of goods at retail pricing, if applicable.
5. We will discuss
next steps and move forward accordingly. After we have selected your final
design, your piece will be finished in approximately 10 days. Some pieces are
finished more or less quickly, it depends on the piece.
Jewelry & Diamond Product Sources
The majority of my diamonds are sourced by an importer that has been in the wholesale diamond business for 20 years. They are members of the Diamond Bourse of the South East United States, New York Diamond Dealers Club, and the World Federation of Diamond Bourses. I have been their customer for over 8 years, and have learned the value of personalized service from my experience with them. Gemstones are sourced by specialists in the various stone types.
